More about Meetings

At our meetings we invite speakers on a wide range of topics. Recent presentations include how to improve your veggie garden soil, tips for making flower arrangements, and planting a garden for butterflies. We try to include a social time and always make sure there is tea, coffee and baking.

Our meetings are lively! We try to keep the business portion of our meetings as brief as possible. And there's more to our meetings than wonderful speakers...

* What's with the flower arrangements?

Like many other Garden Clubs, we encourage members to participate in a Parlour Show. Members can bring an arrangement (any combination of flowers, seed heads, branches and twigs, etc.). Themes will be announced each month. All entrants' names will be placed in a hat and a prize

winner drawn. In addition, everybody present has an opportunity to vote on their favourite entry; the winner will be announced as the "People's Choice". So get out your snippers!

* We love prizes!

We have a door prize, raffles, a name tag prize (to encourage people to wear their name tags) and more. Also watch for sales and giveaway tables where members can share their bounty.

The Club meets at 7:00 on the first Thursday of the month, at Echo Centre's Dogwood Room.

September:  No regular meeting.  Set-up for the Fall Fair Display

October and November:  Regular meetings
